Charity Details

Bob & Dr Gale Zappacosta patrons of The Island House - a charity to support local youth 11-17 yrs.

We accept vulnerable youth (naturally bright but struggling or failing academics) into a voluntary discovery program to discover how to grow their gifts.

Our mission:

To discover and know what each youth is naturally good at, and who they are.

To supply the bespoke materials, training & recognition, assisting each youth to develop their passion.

To engage selected people/mentors to promote the youth’s self-discovery and personal growth.

To support mental health and well-being to help them navigate high school and life choices.

To spotlight what they can do, help and hope to mitigate apathy, low self-esteem, and a graduation from defeat.

To instill a ‘can-do’ personal pride and purpose, to ease unwise life choices.

To help them process, career, business, or cottage industry decisions, and to how to begin and stay their chosen course.

Dr. Gale and Bob's Farm:

The ocean view location is also available for weddings and other events; the proceeds from these events supply the bespoke needs of the participants in the youth development programme.

The adjoining training centre includes a conference facility, workshop, green house, and park-like farming grounds.
