The people of the Cayman Islands are preparing to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III, who will be crowned alongside The Queen Consort at a ceremony at Westminister Abbey, London on Saturday, May 6.
The Islands will commemorate the Coronation with a special family-focused celebration to be held on Cardinall Avenue, George Town in Grand Cayman on public holiday Monday, May 8 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The event is being hosted by Celebrate Cayman, Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, and the George Town Revitalisation Initiative.
The ascension of a new monarch is a historic event and the Cayman Islands as a United Kingdom Overseas Territory will honour His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen Consort in a way that is true to the country’s culture. Fellowship, food as well as music and entertainment will be available for all to enjoy along with a special fireworks display. It will be a wonderful opportunity for families to spend time together as we mark this momentous occasion.
