The Lighthouse in Cayman, was an iconic and much celebrated restaurant on Grand Cayman. It closed its doors in October 2020 after 26 years of operation. Although a cosy nautical theme welcomed you as you enter, there was also a long romantic ‘dock-style’ deck that stretched over the water and allowed diners to drink in the ocean breezes. It was located in the quaint area of Breakers and positioned right on the water's edge, offering a panoramic view of one of the most stunning coastlines in Grand Cayman.
However, business partners Jonathan Nunez and Thomas Tennant, founders of Tomfoodery, have acquired the site and intend to transform it into a fine-dining eatery. The menu will feature Caymanian and seaside cuisine, and they also plan to build a pizza and beer garden. The estimated opening date for the Lighthouse is late 2024, early 2025.
For now, the restaurant is operating as Lighthouse Pizza & Donuts. You can order by phone, or through Bento. There are also a few oceanside benches to sit and enjoy your treats whilst passing through Breakers.
