The first dining night out on our family vacation was at Pappagallo. It was beyond excellent. If you love fresh fish they prepare it so many different ways that it was hard to choose. We loved the Mahi Mahi Mediterranean style and the Pan seared Wahoo. My son who doesn't love seafood gave the Lobster Ravioli two thumbs up! The atmosphere was lively, the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. All six adults thought this was one of our best dining experiences on G.C.

Wonderful restaurant!
Very expensive but was well worth it! Celebrated husbands birthday there after horseback riding on the beach. Spirit of the West horse ride was wonderful also. Only bummer was that the public bus stops running out there after 9 p.m. Thank you Pappa.
for calling taxi for us.

The food and service once again was first class. Our waiter suggested a wine paring for my lobster that was delicious. Pappagallo is becoming one of those places that will always be on our dinner list when visiting Grand Cayman. See you next visit!

Each time our family goes to Pappagallo we love it more and more, and everyone there becomes an extension of our family. The food is delicious, but it is the wonderful service and warmth that makes it a real treat for us. We are there several times on every vacation and plan on being there for Christmas Eve this year as well. It truly is one of our favorite restaurants on the Island.

Pappagallo is a wonderful restaurant with the best ambiance on the island. You'll need a cab or car to get there but it is worth the visit. The food was spectacular. We had veal and fish with the mediterranean style sauce, followed by cappuccino and creme brulee. Outstanding! When the sun starts to set, the egrets come to roost on the trees outside in the lagoon. We felt like we were in a sanctuary. The screened in setting is the best, get a table next to the window.

This is - by far - the best restaurant in the Islands. Casanova's is good, and the food at Sunshine Suites is great, but this is the best restaurant on Grand Cayman. I come from a community of chefs and I know what I'm talking about. Enjoy.

My husband and I came to Grand Cayman primarily to dive. We ate at a few of the local restaurants. Some quite pricy. I wanted the sunset dining. I have to tell you I was not only surprised by the beauty of the place but the food was fantastic. And the price was very reasonable. We were staying close by, little did we know of the gem right around the corner. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

It takes a lot to get me away from the ocean when I’m in Grand Cayman. I want every meal alfresco, looking out at the shimmering Caribbean. My first visit to Pappagallo changed my mind: it immediately became one of my absolute musts every time I’m on the island. Hidden far away from Seven Mile Beach up in the wilds of West Bay, it is worth every twisting turn of road. (The first time, I did reconnaissance: finding it in daylight, before returning that evening to eat. Take a cab—he’ll know.) Arrive to find a magnificent thatched structure that makes you think of Polynesia. Cross the foot bridge to find yourself in a magical setting that feels more outside than in. To your right, the intimate, immaculate bar is perfect for before-dinner drinks or after-dinner coffee. To your left are large, warmly decorated dining-rooms, with lazy ceiling fans, opulent plantings and spacious seating. My wife and I always ask for the room closest to the lighted lagoon, sitting nearest to large screen-panelled walls that protect you from any stray mosquito while adding to a sense of exoticism. And the food? As close to peerless as anything on Cayman. Lobster ravioli in a succulent rich sauce can be an appetizer or dinner (but be careful: they are so filling that the appetizer can become dinner!) Soups, salads, unique seafood creations, steaks, excellent wine cellar. It is hard to not go over the top about Pappagallo—and why not? I don’t want to keep this one to myself. As someone else once wrote: Pappagallo is “way out of the way—and way out of the ordinary.” Go. Enjoy. Bring your friends. (Pappagallo means “parrot” and the owners have their share of these colorful, talkative, majestic birds , housed in grand cages near the private dining rooms near the back. We always go visit them after dinner to say thanks.) But I do have a quibble: why is Pappagallo never open for lunch?

We just returned from the Cayman Islands and my husband and I are still talking about the fabulous meal that we had at restaurant. The atmosphere was calming and tropical and the food was the best we had on our trip. My favourite was the Black Bottom Coconut Pie. I can't seem to get it out of my mind. Since I was a little girl coconut has been one of my favourites. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
